Groundwork started at The Tourist

The urgent demand for additional housing continues to grow. In various places in the Netherlands, therefore, wasteland is being transformed into completely new residential areas. Such is the case in Breda, where a new complex with 48 affordable flats is being built on the site of the former cafeteria De Toerist.
This project has been realised thanks to Crowdrealestate's investors. Refinancing for the purchase of the site was made possible through the ‘Transformation Breda’ proposition in 2021 with a principal amount of €910,000. Further development and refinancing of this earlier proposition took place in early 2023 through the proposition ‘Apartments De Toerist’, with a principal amount of €1,900,000. The latter proposition was fully redeemed on 1 November 2024 through the successful pre-sale of the flats.

Groundwork for the complex started last month. The building will consist of five floors with 48 flats ranging from 26 sqm to 50 sqm. Scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, it will provide affordable housing in a city where demand for it continues to grow.
